Our team is both transnational and transcultural — although based in Brazil, it includes members from different countries, institutions, and cultural backgrounds.

Transmedia Educommunication for Sustainability in the Context of the Climate Crisis: Applications in Public Schools
General Coordinator:
Geane Carvalho Alzamora (Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG)
Associate Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Department of Social Communication. She is a permanent faculty member of UFMG’s Graduate Program in Social Communication, a member of the Coordinating Committee of the UFMG Program for Civic Education in Defense of Democracy, a member of UFMG’s Standing Committee on Artificial Intelligence, and of the Proponent Committee for the Chair on Disinformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies (IEAT/UFMG).
She served as Vice-Coordinator of UFMG’s Graduate Program in Social Communication (2016–2018) and as Coordinator of the Research Advisory Office at UFMG’s Faculty of Philosophy and Human Sciences (2021–2024).
Since 2013, she has held a Level 2 Research Productivity Grant from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). She is the leader of the research group Media, Semiotics and Pragmatism – MediaAção (CNPq/UFMG) and co-founder of the Research Network on Semiotics, Interactions and Media Materialities (Rede SIMM).
